- Tuesday and Wednesday: Moon in the sign of Sagittarius - Plant seasonal color
- Pansies, Violas, Cyclamen, Primroses, and other fall and winter color are available for planting.
- Don't let your guard down regarding snails and slugs, so bait your new plantings. They can do as much damage in the fall as in the spring.

- October is the last month to fertilize roses with Rose Food and Citrus with their regular fertilizer. Next month, you switch to the winter fertilizer 0 10-10.

- Finally, with the leaves falling, it is time to clean your gutters of all the gathered debris. You might look to install gutter screens to keep them clean and clear all year.
