7th Weekend Of The Holiday Gardening Season

Gardening by the Moon Weekend To-Do

An idea as old as agriculture, based both folklore and superstition but there are scientific ideas to back it up.

Later in the Week

  • Tuesday- Wednesday: Moon in the sign of Gemini -
    • All the holiday cedar, pine, and spruce trees in four and six-inch pots should be moved outdoors. Once outside, give them a good drink of water, hose off the foliage, and remove the holiday decorations and wrapping.
Other Things To-do
  • The winter pruning season for roses and fruit trees has arrived. Call your favorite garden center if you would like hands-on pruning advice. They're conducting pruning demonstrations this month.
  • And finally, Horseradish roots are available for planting but plant them in containers. When planted in the open ground, they become an invasive pest.
