Gardening by the Moon Weekend To-Do

An idea as old as agriculture, based both folklore and superstition but there are scientific ideas to back it up.

• Lunar Phase: Thanksgiving Weekend: Hanukkah begins on  Monday November 29: New Moon on Friday December 3
•  Saturday-Sunday: Moon in the sign of Virgo -  Harvest  and cultivate
  • If freezing temperatures are forecasted, water containers under any type of covering. During the winter, these plants are watered every three weeks.  

Later in the Week

• Wednesday-Thursday: Moon in the sign of Scorpio - Prune, water, compost and fertilize
